A: D.J.’s Painting & Remodeling, Inc. has served central Illinois for over 30 years now, changing residential and commercial spaces from ordinary to extraordinary. It all began in 1991, when David Juarez founded D.J.’s Painting in Bloomington–Normal, Illinois, while attending Illinois State University. David drew upon prior painting and management experience from the Chicago suburbs to launch a painting business known for valuing individuals and environments and how they influence each other. Soon after, D.J.’s Painting expanded its services to include remodeling and project management services to meet growing customer requests. Today, D.J.’s Painting & Remodeling, Inc. is a full-service painting, remodeling, and design business with highly qualified experts and designers to bring each customer’s dream space to life. Q: Are you insured?

 

A: Every member of our team is covered by Workman’s Compensation and General Liability insurance, fully protecting our customers and employees alike. We also carry additional umbrella liability insurance for your protection and peace of mind.

Q: Are your prices competitive?

 

A: Our prices are very competitive with other fully insured, high quality painting and remodeling contractors in the area. If you do see a difference in price, it is most likely due to our commitment to thorough preparation and quality. In order to get the most accurate estimate possible, please contact us to schedule a consultation for your project. We would be happy to help you navigate multiple quotes to ensure similar quality workmanship before making your decision.

Q: Do you require a contract?

 

A: Before any work begins, we will present and require signature on a detailed scope of work and contract. This thorough estimate will let you know exactly what you are paying for and eliminates the uncertainty of vague contracts.

 

For more elaborate projects with extensive design work, you will be presented with a contract committing you to only drawings and design. When a full scope of work can be provided, you will be presented with an additional contract.

Q: How will my project be supervised?

 

A: Every project is assigned a project manager. Your project manager will conduct an initial on-site walkthrough to create a set of objectives and goals. Then that same project manager—with the assistance of our whole team—will oversee your job through completion. Once work begins, your project manager will provide our office with multiple progress reports every day along with required on-site inspections. At the end of each day, you will get a call from our office manager to assure your continued satisfaction as the job progresses. This thoroughness results in our high standard of quality and customer service.

Q: How do you handle deadlines?

 

A: Before any work begins, we will map out a timeline incorporating all phase deadlines. Every member of our team is aware of these deadlines and strives to meet them to your satisfaction. Our schedule is very weather dependent, but we do whatever we can to adjust to keep your project on track.

Q: How will my personal property be protected during the project?

 

A: We will treat your property as if it is our own. We take extra care to thoroughly cover all flooring and furniture, and even cover air ducts and seal off entries to prevent other areas of your space from being affected. If we are working outside, rest assured that your lawn, shrubs, and plants will be protected to the best of our ability.

Q: Will the project site be cleaned up after completion?

 

A: At the end of every day, we clean and vacuum all areas involved in the project. A final thorough cleanup of the project area will take place at the completion of the project—even down to the smallest of details! We clean every corner and line up every screw in the outlet and switch plate covers. These finishing touches are what sets us apart from other contractors.

Q: Can D.J.’s Painting & Remodeling, Inc. help me with color selection and design?

 

A: Our full-time interior designer will happily help you with all of your design needs associated with your project. Our designer will help convert every detail you have in mind and bring it to life in your space. Don’t have a vision? No stress—together we will develop one. After asking in-depth questions about how you will use the space and all the functionality you have in mind, our designer will make sure all the pieces come together to create a space unique to your personality and lifestyle. And when it comes time to execute, our designer is always right there, every step of the way. We handle all the appointments, meet you at the showrooms, and even narrow the options to fit your design and budget. With D.J.’s Painting & Remodeling, Inc., you’ll have an expert interior designer who will take your ordinary to extraordinary.

Q: What do I need to do before your painters arrive?

 

A: Because every job is unique, we will provide you with a detailed outline covering the responsibilities of both parties before any work begins. In most cases, you only need to remove any small collectibles, pictures, and valuable items; we will take care of the rest.

Q: Does D.J.’s Painting & Remodeling, Inc. provide a warranty?

 

A: Yes, we offer our clients a one-year warranty on workmanship defects. Our company’s reputation for quality and efficiency is based upon your complete satisfaction with our services. We will sit down with you and discuss your expectations before a contract is signed, ensuring that all of your needs and wants are completed to your satisfaction.

Q: What should I look for in a warranty?

 

A: As you consider service options from various contractors, we know how confusing warranties and contracts can be! In general, a reasonable warranty on workmanship is one year. Product warranties are always subject to the manufacturer’s standard specifications. However, bear in mind that most paint warranties will not cover damage that happens after completion of the job. They also cannot cover recurring issues caused by structural shifts. 

 

Most importantly, a warranty is only dependable if it’s backed by a reputable contractor with a history of excellence and expertise. With 30 years of expert work and customer care, D.J.’s Painting & Remodeling, Inc. has a warranty you can count on.

Q: What are your payment terms?

 

A: For most projects, we require a security deposit at time of contract acceptance. There will also be payments due upon ordering material and halfway through project completion. The final payment is due upon completion of the project. The breakdown of these payments will be listed on the back of your contract.

Q: I’m ready to get a quote! What do I do?

 

A: Simply call, email, or stop by our office and talk to one of our knowledgeable staff members.

While these are our regular hours, you will often find that our dedicated staff starts and ends their day outside of these times. Emergency service calls are always available after hours to our customers.

The stain didn't take on the first application, probably because of the rain. I was surprised DJ's completely re-did the job. I think most contractors would have said there was a problem with the work over which they had no control and left it at that. DJ's made sure we were satisfied which made it a good experience. Everyone apologized for the problem which I didn't think was necessary. Something happened which was out of their control and they fixed it. No apologies were necessary but were appreciated as part of your effort to give the customer the best job possible.
